Economic Development Coordinator

  • Salary: $105,479 to $127,621 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed term role until December 2023
  • Usual hours of work: Full time
  • Usual work location: Flexible within Victoria (flexibility may be available)

This is a prioritised position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with the Special Measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic). The Economic Development Coordinator will report to the Director, Rogional Operations and act as a broker to bring key stakeholders and partners together to deliver a range of programs and strategic projects that support economic infrastructure development across the Gippsland region. This position will lead the delivery of a range of program initiatives at the local and regional level as well as contribute to the operations of the Gippsland Regional Team.

The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting integrated investment by bringing together key stakeholders and partners, developing and maintaining strategic relationships/networks with Federal, State and local government, community organisations and industry.
  • Developing and facilitating projects in line with regional and state strategic policy and community needs.
  • Building productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and demonstrating creative partnership-based approach to infrastructure project development and delivery.
  • Managing the delivery of a range of Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund and DJSIR/RDV program initiatives across the region, to achieve program objectives.

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience:

  • experience and knowledge in the field of economic infrastructure delivery and major infrastructure projects delivery
  • sound understanding of the issues affecting regional and rural communities.
  • experience in developing and supporting the delivery of projects and programs led by Aboriginal organisations and/or projects with cultural outcomes
  • a relevant tertiary degree and knowledge of Government policies and programs, current and emerging trends would also be highly regarded.

This position has a requirement to travel. A current driver's licence will be required for this position.
